Donker Bread

Another day of over 30c temperatures, not moderated today by any cooling sea breezes as we had yesterday.

Susan spent almost all day on medical matters with her mum. In the morning I cut the long stalky bits off the brown grass, went shopping and to the library and finally turned up at Doreen’s to let the cleaner in.

While Susan was at the hospital this afternoon I made this loaf of Donker bread, containing coffee, rye flour, cardamon, caraway and black pepper and also worked in the sauna that is the greenhouse stripping out the lower leaves of the tomatoes, picking lots of cherries. It felt cool outside when I came out of the greenhouse.

Went to the gym and swim which was cool and pleasant despite working up a sweat.

Another balmy evening, still 24c at 11.00pm so we ate outside sitting out and enjoying the glow of the setting sun.
