Rusty and the Gang

We went visiting very old friends, and the girls in the family quickly offered to take Rusty out. Some swiftly negotiated rules (No going out onto the road) and off they went. Other children appeared from other houses until Rusty was leading a pack of about 10 kids, all taking turns to hold the lead. He loves children and obeyed them fairly well, sitting and lying down to command. Few dogs can have been loved and stroked as intensively as Rusty was in those two hours.
And what were we doing? We sat outside with the parents drinking coffee and eating biscuits, watching the pack roam from garden to garden and around the garages.
By the time we went home, refreshed, Rusty was very tired and didn't need a walk until late in the evening. I reckon the kids were fairly tired too.
