Waxeye

This will be the last wax-eye blip for the year.....by the time we get home in three weeks they will have flitted off to who knows where.  They are winter visitors.
This wee guy had just feasted on an apple just below him and was given the hurry up by a bossy sparrow.  He got on the highest vantage point available to watch when it was safe to return.
Today has been like spring, I got the sheets and towels completely dry which was a blessing.  Tomorrow we will be enjoying tolerating temperatures around 28° in Townsville.
We leave home at 2.15am for the two hour drive north to Christchurch Airport, get the car secured then dropped off at the International Terminal.  We leave at 6.30am.
