Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Jimi Hendrix Experience - Fire (recorded 4 February 1967)
On 31 December 1966, after the Jimi Hendrix Experience had played at the Hillside Social Club in Folkestone, they went to a party being held nearby at the mother of Noel Redding's, and Hendrix requested to stand next to the fire. He used the line afterwards as the basis of the song Fire, and recorded it for his first album five weeks later. Apparently, their Great Dane was already on the hearth, hence Hendrix's ad lib just before the guitar solo, "Oh, move over, Rover, and let Jimi take over...".
