Gillipaw's Journal

WaterWorld, Universal Studios, Los Angeles

Very exciting watching explosions and stunts in this action packed show, enduring temperatures of over 40C. I've never been at a theme park before where cooling sprinklers are switched on.

We also enjoyed the Behind the Scenes Studio Tour. Norman Bates scared us all at his Motel, Peter Jackson's 360 3D King Kong has us all screaming, it's the world largest 3D experience. We also drove around Wisteria Lane looking for Desperate Housewives, experienced an earthquake down in a subway station, and saw many different water effects, including flooding and shipwrecks.

Earlier in the day we witnessed the unveiling of Elvis, the latest waxwork to arrive at Tussaud's in Hollywood. Lots of music, fanfares and confetti, and I got right up to the front beside the Reuters' cameraman. The museum is great fun, as most of the stars are within their film sets, so you can stand beside them and take loads of photos.

We ate at Buca di Beppo on Universal City Walk, excellent Italian Food. They even had a Pope's Table for special occasion dining.
