One man and his dog

Went for a run around Balerno first thing, only a short 3.5 mile circuit of the village which is a run of two halves, downhill for half the distance, uphill back to the start.

A hearty breakfast set us up for the trip into Edinburgh for the first show: All the Kings Men which was an excellent acapella group who sang with tremendous skill and energy.

Having the benefit of a Doreen’s blue badge we were able to park near the venues and wheel Doreen into performances. Staff were always very helpful in assisting her to a reserved spot.

While Susan and Doreen went to another show the rest of us walked around Grassmarket and Victoria Street enjoying street theatre and purchasing a selection of cheese from I J Mellis, the exquisite Edinburgh cheesemonger. It was on Victoria Street that today’s blip was taken as well as the extra.

Back in the car over to New Town for a very early supper before walking back over to Old Town for our performance in Rock Choir Live: the Maidstone and Sevenoaks choirs.

A full house watched our performance. All too soon, the 11 songs were done and we were out of the venue on a high and into the adjacent bar where dozens of Rockies were also celebrating. There’s nothing quite like being part of a live performance is there?
