Chilling

Wednesday has been interesting, and much more enjoyable than yesterday. The composition of the Team at work is slightly different on Wednesdays and Thursdays compared to the other days, and it makes a massive difference to the atmosphere.

For a while I suspected the colleague who causes problems hates the job but cannot find something else which will pay as much. That turns out to be my other colleagues’ opinion too. It is always nice when - in situations like that - you know your opinion is shared.

We had a visit from someone who does our kind of work, but for our MPs in London. He is from this area and came in for a gossip while “home” on holiday. It turns out he has met the Syrian through work, as she now has a similar kind of job while finishing her masters at the LSE.

We laughed because he thought she’s Canadian. To be fair, she is blonde, pale skinned and has a Canadian accent.

What else?

Bad news - I had to go to my car for something at lunchtime and found a gull had completely redecorated it.

Good news - it rained so hard in the afternoon that the mess was gone by the time I finished work.

Bad news - the weather forecast for the coming days is dreadful.

Good news - a gardener is going to come and sort out the mess in my garden. It is impossible to keep on top of it with the way the weather has been.

Super good news - got the paper copy of the blood test results from 2 weeks ago. All is in order.

I went over to Dysart after dinner for the usual fresh air and short walk. It was great - a soft warm breeze from the southwest again. It was busy with people fishing off the pier and others coming back in their boats from fishing offshore.
