Swimming beach

A beautiful morning and I took an early swim as the tide was in. Not here in fact as the wind was from the south east and it was surprisingly choppy, but round the corner facing the west. Very nice indeed.  I think that hardy clump of wildflowers are perennial sowthistle but am happy to be corrected.
Back home, I have never seen so many butterflies - no painted ladies in my garden but loads of peacocks and a fair smattering of red admirals and tortoiseshells. It's all changed now and we have a severe weather warning in place, a ton of rain expected from 7pm onwards. Where will the butterflies go?
And other news, Sue the house sitter has departed on her next adventure. She has a month in Sussex followed later on by a month in Tuscany! She rattled off in Shirley Bassey (the car, bought in Wales and seriously ancient but very reliable) enroute to Dublin via half the country. We will be seeing her again next year.
