Yarn Bombed

Parliament Square in Hertford has been utterly yarn bombed. It is literally festooned with colourful knitted creations including bunches of flowers in shop doorways & window displays; hanging garlands from the trees; all manner of creatures around the war memorial, traffic bollards dressed as toadstools; and a large knitted dragon.

It’s bizarre but fun; crazy but amusing; daft but touching. The sheer volume of knitted works is mind boggling, let alone the hundreds and hundreds of hours that must have been needed to make them.

Here I’m blipping just one bollard cum toadstool, but this in no way does the display any justice at all. Sadly there were too many people and cars for me to take better shots.
