I was taken to Kenwood House, Hampstead by my daughter when I stayed with her a few weeks ago. They usually just make use of the extensive grounds  for walking, as a lot of people were doing today, but on that occasion we also went into the house and were impressed with the number of paintings by well-known artists that were on display.

Today, in view of the strong winds, Gordon and I thought it might be a good place to explore. We had a lovely lunch in the café and then went on a conducted tour, just because we could get it free with our English Heritage cards really. And we were so glad we did, as we were just a small group and we had a great guy who really knew about the paintings and talked about them in such an interesting way, from a painting aspect as well as the stories behind them. We were all engrossed in what he had to tell us - even the two young lads, who had been forced enticed along, were showing signs of boredom and were trying to catch up with football scores on their phones, found themselves unwittingly caught up in it.

High winds, but lots of sunshine and so warm. There appeared to be some rain whilst we were in the house, but all dried up now.
