Put all parts together . . .

. . . by following the right order of numbers. Exactly how, we wondered.

I bought this elephant construction kit in South Africa thinking our youngest granddaughter, who likes making things, would like to help me to put it together. Well, we tried. We tried very hard. But in the end we had to give up. The instructions are minimal, matching numbers impossible. We managed the head and trunk, but could go no further. Whether I will ever pick it up and try again is debatable, and yet I hate to be defeated.

We made the fatal error this afternoon of trying to make a quick trip to Sainsbury’s in Penrith, forgetting that there will be no quick trips on the A66 until November. So much traffic heading for the Penrith roundabout and the road to Keswick. Going slowly, but then there was a stop - we found out later that a truck had broken down on the said roundabout, amongst all the holiday traffic. We eventually managed to get off and took a backroad route, only to find the other road to the roundabout was also jammed. So we went left and returned home . . . via ice creams at Orton. How many months until November - sigh!
