Short Crossing

Passing through Colintraive today I was struck by this image which emphasises how short the crossing to Rhubodach in Bute actually is.

That explains why this was the chosen spot for swimming cattle from the island to the mainland , which gave Colintraive its Gaelic name , Caol an t-Snàimh - the narrows of the swimming.
