Gallimaufry

Mono Monday challenge theme this week is : Melange.
When I looked it up, just to be certain of the definition, one alternative was gallimaufry from an old French word for stew. I was going to blip last night's dinner but in mono it looked like a pile of sick, so here's some brightly coloured cotton reels instead.
Mostly brightly coloured except for Anchor shade number 98 , which must be very old because it was made in Britain, and little is these days. I must have inherited it from my Dad judging by its age and rather sludgy colour.
At one time a reel of Sylko was what a good needle woman would aspire to, until that upstart Gutermann started to be imported , from Germany I think. It's  made of polyester. Hmm. Pros and cons.
Anyway most of my collection is the new fangled stuff now.
