MONO MONDAY - MELANGE

Mélange : a motley assortment of things
Synonyms : farrago, gallimaufry, hodgepodge, hotchpotch, mingle-mangle, mishmash, oddments, odds and ends, omnium-gatherum, ragbag

I wasn’t going to bother with Mono Monday today, but having been up to the Great Western Hospital again today, and seeing this mural that adorns the whole wall in the entrance, thought it would fit quite well as it is quite a mixture, hotchpotch and mishmash of various buildings in Swindon and is done in various shades of blue.  When I checked "mono" can mean not only black and white, but various shades of one colour - however, I apologise for the yellow sign in the middle!

The design for the wall mural was created by the artist, Tahgasa Bertram, who kept the design focused on the main brand colours of the NHS, and his design celebrates not only the NHS as a whole, but also our large town of Swindon, and the NHS’s role within the community.  It was unveiled in July 2018 to mark the 70th Anniversary of the National Health Service.  It also shows various scenes from the past and present, including a GWR steam engine.

My Mother says she feels better, but my sister and I are hoping that a permanent care package will be put in place before she comes out of hospital - and that it will be more comprehensive than the last one that finished a week after she came out.

Meanwhile, she is still grumbling about the food - I wonder if the catering staff realised how much angst it would cause by them putting an orange jelly in her dish rather than a strawberry one - she was so cross, I was nearly wearing it!

P.S.  Many thanks for your kind comments and stars for yesterday’s Blip - and apologies once again for not responding.
