A famous silhouette

Just a couple of rocky fells. There are many hundreds more in Britain. But they are much loved by hundreds of thousands of people, maybe more over the decades. For as they approach the English Lake District from Kendal, through Windermere to Ambleside, they are the first peaks showing what delights are to come.

Here they are in typical British Summer weather. Not my best photo of them but a reminder of many joys over sixty and more years.
