Hiking days are over

These boots were made for walking but have ended up on permanent display outside the Border Hotel, The Green, Kirk Yetholm at the northern end of the Pennine Way. Either the former wearers have given up walking or their boots gave up on them! This National Trail stretches along the mountain tops of the rugged backbone of England and offers 268 miles of upland walking from Edale in the Peak District. A once-in-a-lifetime experience perhaps for some people!
