Hugh’s chair

Hugh’s Chair is in the library of Hill of Tarvit.

Frederick and Beatrice Sharp had 2 children; Hugh and Elizabeth.

The child’s chair could have been used by both. Hugh was born first. Hugh died in the Castlecary Train Disaster in 1937 and Elizabeth died in 1948 leaving the estate, the house, the collection and her fortune to the National Trust for Scotland.

This was my first day back to guide after the trip to Sheltland.
