The DAFF Caper

It was simple enough...Just catch the train to “Manor Park” (in the Hutt valley not the UK) and stagger up a hill to a plot of Daffs on the site of an old homestead.
What could go wrong?
Well the train blew a fuse or something and the train folk couldn’t find any fuse wire or forgot where the circuit breaker thingie was and for the second time in a quite short time the train morphed into a bus...
BUT we did get there and got up the hill and got the daffs BUT we then discovered that the shuttle that delivered us was not going to undeliver us later and we were walking the 4 km back to a workable station (that had a bus) when one of our team spotted the shuttle and waved at the driver and hey presto were were picked up and delivered back to the station with no trains to catch a bus back intro the city for free. I should bark that everyone was an “older” person with a gold card that we get here in NZ and would not have been paying anyway but to miss out on a “free” trip is very annoying to us older dogs.
On the plus side it was a great day and The Bossess now has a lovely spring display on the table of an older style of Daff which The Boss had never seen before and The Boss’s legs were 12.5 Km tireder so got ice cream for desert. Wait... Not his legs but him...OK?
