Grand Day In A Grand City

I celebrated my birthday with the Tuttle clan in Liverpool today. We started with a (360°) tour up the Liver Building. The lift took us to the tenth floor which allowed us to walk around and admire the views all round and beyond the tenth floor is a spiral staircase that took us further up one of the Liver Bird towers. The wind dangerously strong, cold and multi-directional (no umbrellas allowed) but thankfully the rain stopped at this point (rain all day forecast) allowing me to take half-decent pics without worrying about annoying lens droplets.

After a latte in the Fab 4 Cafe we headed to what I assumed would be the (usual) Pizza Express for lunch, but ended up in the Oh Me Oh My restaurant opposite the Liver Building. Sadly the roof garden was closed due to the atrocious weather, but this did not hinder the surprise one bit of course. Afternoon tea for the 3 of us. Awesome. Really, awesome! And we were pretty full afterwards: we got to take away cake. Yum. Plenty of laughs and steps later through Tate Gallery and Liverpool One we eventually landed back on the train with a Costa in-hand in true Liverpudlian*-commuter-rush-hour-style.

Home in time for a quick flick through Netflix....... Paul it is. The movie that is. We haven't laughed so hard in ages.

I couldn't have asked for a better day!

*not a Liverpudlian, but no harm in pretending for a bit.
