Cage

Next to the lion enclosure, some exotic plants were protected behind chicken wire.

The thing about cages is that they work both ways. After talking to the keepers, I realised that the main function of the cage was actually to protect the lions from the public.

And it emerged, when the chicken wire was taken down, it had been the only thing keeping us safe from the plants.
