Flower Friday : : Dana's Dahlia

The dog days of summer are turning out to be just that.
Now that Dana is back to her teaching duties we are back to picking up Blake and bringing him to our house to spend the day with a little company.  It's still hot so mostly everybody, dogs included, is flaked out in a different room avoiding the outdoors.

The boys are still home but working full time. Most colleges and universities are on the semester system and are starting soon, but the California universities and state colleges are still on the quarter system so Peter and Will don't start until the end of September. This puts them in high demand at their summer jobs,  since most of the summer hires have left. Will's is working at a golf club  in Fountaingrove and, although the clubhouse and several houses next to the course burned down, the groundskeepers managed to keep the course in good shape so it is still open. Things are busy for Peter, a pool server at Meadowood Country Club in Calistoga  since the temperatures are still pushing 100º.

Claire and Julia both leave next weekend for their East Coast colleges. They are spending their final week of summer recuperating from having all four  wisdom teeth (each) out this morning.  Must be fun times around their household this weekend.

Maya and Owen are probably

I ventured out into Dana's garden when I went to pick up Blake today. Her dahlias are spectacular, and outgrowing their supports. I particularly liked the one in today's blip because of their curly petals.

Thanks as always to Biker Bear for keeping this pleasant challenge going....
