Heather path

We bus back to Land’s end to continue our walk. It’s beautiful again and the going up the west coast is much easier.

There’s the huge beaches at Sennen, purple and yellow heathers, contorted granite cliffs, shipwrecks, caves.

Cape Cornwall is surrounded by a collection of buildings, of all sizes, with perfectly manicured gardens - some seemingly about to collapse into the sea. There’s even a golf course.

At Trewellard is the Levant mine. Dozens of chimneys and pit heads litter the area - beautifully crafted, in various states of disrepair. The museum is underwhelming, but the dim film room gives us fifteen minutes of rest for weary legs, and a cursory historical/geological appreciation.

A bus to St Ives, check-in, sauna, happy hour cocktails, dinner, bed.
