Wedding Week - The Guests Start to Gather

We are now up in the Lake District, near Crossthwaite, staying in a converted corn mill as we get ready for our eldest nephew’s marriage to his beautiful fiancée. The mill accommodates up to 40+ guests and last night the first 25 started to arrive.

As you can see it didn’t take long for the bubbly to flow. We were served with a slap up meal, prepared by the groom’s mother and friends. That was after we’d worked out how to use the various appliances in the commercial kitchen! Unfortunately, the only thing we struggled with was the sanitizer (dishwasher). I’d seen them before, having inspected food premises in a past life, but in the end we went back to the traditional method and with plenty of hands put to the task it was soon done,

The bride and groom to be turned up fashionably late, only to regale us with a list of misfortunes that had beset them in the run up to this week. Thankfully, that is now all behind them and we can look forward to a wonderful wedding (Tuesday) and family week together.

Ps thank you all for your kindness for yesterday’s image of the heather. I’m struggling for the time and connection to thank you all at the moment.
