Hawkshead

Weather forecast said cool 15 degrees but dry so off up to Hawkshead. We had thought of walking up to High Damn but the road and  car park was closed ( roadworks?)
Hawkshead was busy.. what did we expect it is August!
But a stroll up past the church leads to peaceful fields and we had a pleasant walk with Fletch. I love the walls in this area..simply made from stone flags as you can see in the photo.
Hawkshead is a pretty village with houses with white washed walls I deliberately walked towards a house that always has large hanging baskets with magnificent flowers. I was all set to take photos but sadly the flowers were all dead.
We had a quick mooch round the shops and had a snack in  the dog friendly cafe. They sell dog popcorn, but I didn't get any for Fletch  He's put on a few pounds.. !
Back home and he had an extra long  'teatime walk  to help him keep trim!
