Walmer Castle

Today we took the gazebo down and discovered not one but two broken struts. We took it to the tip and will decide whether to replace it next year. We’ve only used it twice, and it was great as a sun shade, but useless in the wind!

Popped into Hythe to buy seated tickets for the Venetian fete. We usually rough it on the bank with picnic blanket but Mr L’s mobility has deteriorated somewhat, so I decided to pay extra for reserved seating.

From there on to Walmer Castle. We have intended to go there after visiting Deal Castle two years ago, and when we got there we realised we had already done so! How could we both forget that we went last year?! Last time however it was a wet day, so we paid again, did a quick walk round the house and then meandered the gardens which we couldn’t do last year. We are still berating ourselves for forgetting we had been, and so recently too! I did at least remember my better camera today!
