Who Are You?

Dear Diary,

Here is a new Chipmunk who was a bit startled to see me with the camera,  I have not seen Rosie in awhile, sigh.  Short Tail seems MIA as well but there is always some wee creature enjoying the seed bowl so I must be content with that.  I went out yesterday in the rain to count the rings of the old Maple tree since it is easier to see them when the stump is wet.  I counted 71.  So the tree was about my age.  Somehow that touched me.  I could see the years of good growth between lean years.  A Maple tree can live 150 or more years but they do not like road salt.  This one was planted too close to the road but I suspect there wasn't much road salt use 70 years ago.
