PADERBORN

We should have 5 minutes for our connection in Paderborn which is of course a bit short, and that's why we choose to take an earlier train, they leave once in an hour from our town.
The earlier train had a delay, there was a defect, but could be fixed eventally. So we had enough time in Paderborn to drink an espresso and
watch all the people walking to and from the station.
The next train could only drive slowly, and the explanation was given that there was a slow train before us on the track. But happily enough we could get our connection in Dortmund just in time.
How lucky we are, we said to each other. Then when we nearly arrived in Oberhausen where we would catch the ICE train to Utrecht, we did not leave the station EssenAltessen. After some time we learned that the police was somehow busy on the line, no further reason given.
We stood there almost for an hour and it was obvious that our ICE had left Oberhausen long before we arrived there.
But luckily every two hours there goes an ICE train from Frankfurt am Main to Amsterdam. We lay down in a park in Oberhausen till this next train arrived and without further delay we arrived in Utrecht and from there to The Hague.
Quite a long day with now and then a bit of stress, but that was soon forgotten when we came home in our apartment.
The whole day the sun had shone, and we will have more sunny days to come and that is a good thing.
I' will catch up tomorrow, as I am tired and it is a bit late already.

I will give my silly hearts tonight to Vectensian, dollydoug, Bella888, Mole, and BikerBear.
