La Citadelle de Blaye

We stayed last night in a hotel inside the 17th century Citadelle de Blaye which formed part of the fortifications to defend Bordeaux from enemies arriving from the Atlantic.
It is quite busy with tourists at this time of year, but a fascinating place to visit. This shot shot was taken just inside the main gate.
