Our pitch...

We hurtled to Hellingly in the Riley today to the Festival of Transport. I say hurtled; the Riley is safe and great to be in, but there is no power steering of course and the steering wheel itself is big and to my mind for a small car takes some driving and always feels and sounds as if you’re going faster than you are. Not totally relaxing, but we love it!

It was hot out there today but we’ve had a great day. Lots of other much loved vehicles on show and an assortment of stalls so something for everyone.

I took my book and appreciated the shade by the side of the car for a quiet read while D looked at the motorcycles.

We visited our friend in Chiddingly after leaving the site but didn’t come home via Eastbourne this year. We were tired!
