Farewell to Assynt

We left our friends to continue their holiday and took the pretty way home, down Wainright's 'little mad road' to Achiltibuie for coffee then the northern route past Altandhu.
By Loch a' Chaoruinn we stopped to watch a red-throated diver, then again to view the range of well-known peaks over Achnahaird Bay - from left to right Suilven (in the thumbnail), Cul Mor, Stac Polly with Cul Beag behind, the two peaks of Ben an Eoin and, missing from the photo, the massive range of Ben More Coigach.
From there it was the direct route with no problems - though I have to say that Pitlochry at teatime is a madhouse of coach parties and best avoided!
