We went out for a little organized photo walk this morning on the UCSC campus. Experimenting at the Arboretum: can the pocket camera compete with the big-boy lens that the instructor is using in the demo? My verdict: not as sharp, but oh not as heavy. The hummers are everywhere, buzzing us as we get in each others' way, and zooming off again before we can figure out where the noise is coming from. Haven't been up there in awhile; it's good to be reminded of this resource.
