Swanning around

Took a leisurely stroll along the canel this morning to Charlotte Square and the Book Festival where I went to hear Kerry Hudson and Sarah Smarsh sharing their experiences of growing up in poverty, one in the UK and the other in the states. A really interesting hour. I've read Lowborn by Kerry Hudson and will now buy Heartland by Sarah Smarsh. 

It was a gorgeous day and I was pleased to come across the swans of my travels. The cygnets are now 4 months old and almost fully grown. Their feathers are beginning to turn white and all nine were evidence (although some were off doing their own thing as was one of the parents)
