A splash of ...

... colour on an otherwise dreich day. 

This is one of four sunflower seedlings that emerged for the the seeds  i planted (the seeds having been given away as part of a community engagement initiative from the Athol Centre which is run by the local baptist church. I'm not religious have been impressed with their work over the past few months - they run the local foodbank and a scheme where food nearing its sell-by date from local shops is made available for people to help themselves). 

One of the seedlings didn't survive transplanting, one died shortly thereafter, another survived (and may also flower shortly) and this one has thrived with minimal attention on my part. It is taller than the wall which is taller than me.
