Echo

This stand of Ox Eye were striking, caught in a shaft of evening light against the darkening greens behind them. I liked the amazing detail in the centre of the flower, although it's difficult to show much in the petals with this level of illumination.

What brought me to this composition was the attitude of the two flowers, the smaller mimicking the larger, as if it were trailing along behind its big brother.

It was quite breezy and difficult to capture a sharp shot with the flowers blowing around on long stalks.

The evenings are starting to draw in noticeably with longer shadows and almost chilly.
