Stirling Day 2

After a more than adequate breakfast we checked out of the hotel. Leaving the car parked at the hotel we headed up to the castle. From the Castle car park there was a good view of Stirling Bridge and the Wallace Monument.

We then entered the castle and joined one of the free guided tours. This was interesting, even though most of the knowledge gained goes into short term memory and is soon lost.

It was very hot in Stirling today, so it was quite nice to go inside to visit some of the interiors including the Great Hall and one of the audience chambers in the Royal Palace. The colour of the harling on the Great Hall is apparently called "Kings Gold". This may be one of the few facts I still remember.

After lingering in the castle grounds for a while we returned to the car and the road for Aberdeen. No traffic hold ups today heading north.
