Pillbox and medlar

A warm day, not too hot but decided against going off in the car. Walked up to the seawall,  not far from home and Fletch enjoys it. Hot in places but enough shady cooler spots to pause in.
There's quite a few fruit trees growing, a result of discarded apple cores as this area has never been cultivated. There's one tree with odd looking fruit that I couldn't recognise. Internet search when I got back. It's a Medlar. The fruit is described as "cul de chien" (or... dogs arse! ) Sounds less rude in French. See the extra.
We walked as far as the pillbox... built during the war,  for anti aircraft guns. There's quite a few in our area as our town was a key target for bombardment. This one doesn't look like it's changed much since it was built.  .. a relic from a moment in history..over 70 years old.
