Shining in the sun

This Kniphofia (Mango Popsicle) was standing proud in the midst of our new bed.  The rest of the garden, along with its human and bird occupants, is wilting badly.

It's supposed to cool down now, but there is no rain forecast this week for us.  The hose will be out again in a little while.
