Herbe de Saint Pierre: Samphire

Recently Ceridwen blipped some samphire and I was struck by how differently it grows in her neck of the woods. This morning, entranced by the cloudage, I stopped to blip and saw a bright sprig of samphire growing out of the concrete wall. There must be several species. It's just finishing flowering here and the seeds are appearing, too tough to eat, but when it first pops up is very delicious lightly steamed with a knob of butter. It has a lemony flavour. I think this can just sneak in for Miranda's Wildflower week challenge, about to take a rest for the Autumn.

Yes, impressive cloudage today but no rain yet! All bright and brisk at the swimming beach - see extra - and pretty fresh in the water.

And thank you for the well wishes for Himself; he has jettisoned the crutches, taken a sneaky look at the scars and all seems well.
