Dragonfly Heaven

I stopped off at Bookham Common on the way home from Mum's.  At the heart of the common is a series of ponds, with a bird hide set up at the end of one.  I settled there for a while watching the numerous dragonflies flitting around.  One perched on a grass stem close to the hide allowing me to catch this shot.

I also spotted a Kingfisher in the reeds fishing, but it was too far away for anything more than a record shot (extra).  One of the final shots of the day was at the last pond which was lorded over by a crane (extra) which ignored the various dogs playing in this dog-friendly accessible water.
