125 not out

It was Cowal Games Saturday  - in fact the 125 th Cowal Games Saturday.

The event was founded in 1894,  expanding  to 2 days in 1905 and to three days in 2013.

There will have been many wet and many dry ones but as at 9.00am this morning we had already recorded over 40 mm of rain at home, with a similar amount yesterday, this must have been one of the dampest.

Apparently the field was worse on Friday and many of the young dancers had a miserable time of it.   But they preserved and around lunchtime today the sun finally came out , even though there were a few showers as well.

Cathleen and I  walked around the stadium  before going for lunch with the Scottish Salmon Company  who , it was later announced, have renewed their main sponsorship for another three years.

My blip is of some of the heavy events athletes competing in the shot putt.  My extra is the 125th commemoration  button badge we were all given.
