Walking Wombat

By WalkingWombat

Small and almost unnoticed.

Our challenge over the next fortnight is to start taking notice of the little things that might normally be passed by without a thought. This glorious little flower was the only one I could see in the vicinity and there it was poking its golden head up amongst the leaf litter. We had a fascinating presentation on the great Australian photographer Peter Dombrovsky on Monday. Peter had taken some of his most iconic images when Australians were fighting to save the Franklin River region from being logged. It was a famous victory and Peter’s work went a long way to introducing the very special wilderness area in Tasmania to the rest of Australia. This will be my first entry in the challenge. I was quite astonished at how clear the flower was as it was taken hand held on my iPhone.

PS - I should add that part of our challenge is to attempt to publish our image in the style of Peter Dombrovsky who didn’t believe in post production and so we can’t use our favourite editing suite.
