Marjorie's ramblings

Today's walk

Worked on programme all morning so had an early lunch and then took myself out for a walk from home. This is the longer version of "round the block" at nearly 4 miles.

Part of the way is on a very quiet tarmac road with views of the River North Tyne below and a sign for the Toboggan Field. The second half of the route is across fields. These are usually very churned up by cattle, but I assumed the girls would be indoors at this time of year. No such luck and the mud was monumental. The cows looked disconsolate as they tried to find bits of grass.

This tractor is one of several, rusting and rotting away slowly in a field. I liked the way there were old grasses growing through and the green slime on the wheels. I did try this in sepia but decided that the colour version was better. Best seen larger.

Taking down the tree in between other jobs (and a brief stop when someone jammed the shredder with a cheque book stub!!
