Meltdown

A strange day. Keeping the focus was not easy. 

I had a long phone discussion with a constituent who is in a very difficult situation. Soon afterwards another constituent came in to see a colleague - again a very nasty problem has fallen on her as a result of bureaucratic incompetence. 

She seemed determined to bring me into the discussion - The Office is open plan so I was right in front of her. 

Meantime I was reprimanded by the Manager for not watching TV. She was out at a meeting and wanted live updates by SMS about the debate going on in the Scottish Parliament. 

In fact 3 computer screens would have been useful. One to show our Parliament’s coverage, another for the Ape House at Westminster which was having its own dramas today, and a third for the live coverage of the court case in Edinburgh which aims to declare Johnson’s recent constitutional moves as unconstitutional. 

Apart from all that, not much happened.

I have just enough energy - emotional and otherwise - tonight for a book and music on the radio.
