While on my runs

Making a cycle lane

The work to provide a cycle lane each way along Karangahake Road started at the eastern end across Symonds Street from the Grafton Bridge. A week or two later, work also began at the western end, a block away from the Ponsonby Road corner. The narrowing of the roadway temporarily makes my ride through there at times a little fraught as impatient drivers squeeze past. Mostly its okay.

Today has been my last working day until Tuesday 17 September. I have been in increasing need of a break from the constant demands (from staff). For two an a half years I have been working to get a joined up system in which staff work collaboratively. It is better than it was but when there is real pressure (as there has been this week), many revert to old patterns of behaviour.
