Autumn Crocus

Visiting Kanyl with much (call it what you will) of the discussion being putting the finishing touches on our Scottish trip starting on Monday.  He and I are off to do the North Coast 500 in his motorhome/camper van/battle bus (call it what you will.

While cutting his grass I spotted this clump of Autumn Crocus (Colchicum autumnale) also known as Naked Ladies (presumably because the leaves appear at a different time of year).  As far as I know they aren't a Crocus as such.   Colchicaceae are distributed from the Mediterranean and through Africa not difficult with 160 species.
