Uncovering

Woke up late with a bit of a start, then into work for busy day. Nipped over to the flat at lunchtime to meet builder and architect....amazing to see it so stripped back to its bare bones and the various Victorian, wartime and more modern wallpapers, the  skeleton of the ceiling and the plaster and lath walls.
We talked over some of the key decisions - boilers, positions of new wall, kitchen lighting. All fairly straightforward and easy to sort. Delighted to see the shutters are all freed and the walls don't seem to need plastered as we'd feared. The window repair people have finished and done a great job. Some of the plywood was up from the floors....and the floorboards looked better than we expected so I'm now toying with the idea of stripping and polishing them, then going for different floors in kitchen and bathroom. So now I have to work out what I should put there, and find a rug for sitting room. Never ends!
Drink after work to say goodbye to CC as she heads for Durham, then home to start surfing....
