Full Steam Ahead

A railway day.

A full day guarding a train, although in truth it was as much about training as trains.  My trainee, very capable, had made anxious noises when approached by the inspector about an assessment, so he hatched a plan whereby I could run through all the relevant stuff as if it were a normal days training, while he travelled with us on his way to do another task.  The subterfuge was rumbled early on but it had the desired effect with a positive outcome and very little stress :-)  On the second trip my newly qualified Assistant Guard was able to practice some new skills as she took the flag and whistle from me.  Fun!

This evening we enjoyed watching an evening train - above - as the sun went down.  A couple of extras, one from this morning and one from this evening ;-)
