Taking the Water

Dolgoch at Dolgoch. The locos take on water at Dolgoch in both directions these days. Since the local mains water changed to a fully treated supply, the water on Tywyn is not great for engine boilers. The mountain spring water at Dolgoch may not be safe for us to drink but it’s much better for steam engines .... and much cheaper too!

Another good day guarding. Today’s assistant will soon be assessed for independent guarding so it the best move was to sit back and let him take the lead. It seemed to work out pretty well :-)

Nice meal out with good and long-standing friends tonight. Good company and good conversation.
