Tree

We spent a very pleasant morning at Stirling Castle (and sampling the delights of a Stirling cafe) today. The light was not propitious, and while I had some ok-ish pictures of the castle, I went for this study of a tree, with what I think is a war memorial in the background (forgot to check).

We were both impressed with the relatively recently reopened royal lodgings, which have been 'restored' to look more or less as they would have looked at the time (relatively brief) when Stirling Castle was used as a royal castle during the 16th century. The Stirling Heads are particularly amazing, including the modern - and repainted - reproductions.

The visit was rounded off with excellent scoff at the Darnley Coffee House.
