Sailing!

Thursday
Sailing up at Caesar Creek again this afternoon, with Rogers friend and former colleague Phil. Unlike the last time we were out, when the weather was unsettled, with the occasional storm going through, today was picture perfect - beautiful warm temperatures, low humidity and not a cloud in the sky. The wind was rather fickle, occasionally leaving us momentarily becalmed, but in general becoming more constant as time went on. Unfortunately it had to be a shorter one this afternoon, as hand bell and choir practice were starting up again this evening, so we needed to be back at church for 6.15, and it takes a while to get the boat off the water and back to it’s storage area, and then about an hours drive back. Also since our last time, about a month ago, Phil has acquired a small battery-powered motor, so we had that assurance, that if we did get becalmed, and were running short of time, we could use the motor to get back to the dock if necessary - as it turred out we didn’t need it!
